News Update: Tom Vaughn’s Trusteeship in Northern District of Illinois

The Chapter 13 Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois, Tom Vaughn, passed away earlier this year.

If you have filed a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case under Tom Vaughn in the Northern District of Illinois, an interim trustee has been appointed, and payments before March 5th have been processed. Regretfully, the interim trustee has elected to make changes that preclude TFS from being able to process payments going forward.

As a result of this decision, as of Friday, March 5th 2021, TFS will no longer be a payment option for Chapter 13 payments in the Northern District of Illinois.

If, for any reason, you need to access your TFS account, your username and password will still work.

For questions about future payment options, please contact your attorney.

We are here for you. At TFS, we recognize the uncertain times we are all currently experiencing and the financial stress this can create.

If you have questions about your plan, especially as it relates to how a late or missed payment impacts your bankruptcy, please contact your attorney’s office.

In these challenging times, we understand that it may be necessary to make changes to your payment schedule. Should you need to reschedule or cancel payments, our team is available to provide support and assistance in processing these requests.
